In the lead-up to Labour Day 2025, General Secretary of the ABWU, Senator David Massiah, is again urging the Government to immediately convene a broad-based stakeholder consultation to tackle the severe impact of the rising cost of living on workers throughout Antigua and Barbuda.
Sen. Massiah warns that many workers are suffocating under the weight of rising prices, and immediate intervention is needed to provide relief.
He is also calling on the Browne Administration to convene the National Minimum Wage Advisory Committee — as required by law — to review and adjust the national minimum wage.
The General Secretary is also urging all workers — from every sector and political background — to show their solidarity by coming out in full support of the ABWU Labour Day March and Rally on Monday, May 5th at 9 a.m., starting at the ABWU Headquarters on Lower Newgate Street.
